App Frod Camera Club

Welcome to the App Frod Camera Club — a friendly, creative group dedicated to exploring the art of photography and capturing the beauty of the world around us.

 

Our Story

 

The group was founded by Denis Brelu-Brelu, who originally formed a small photography club in Scunthorpe to help local people learn and enjoy their new digital cameras. Denis’s enthusiasm and generosity inspired many to take up photography.

 

After his sudden passing on 11th November 2007, members decided to continue the club in his name. On 30th November 2007, The Brelu-Brelu Photography Group was officially formed in his memory — keeping his passion for photography and community alive.

 

In February 2009, the group became affiliated with the North & East Midlands Photographic Federation (N&EMPF), allowing members to showcase their work in regional competitions and exhibitions.

 

What We Do

 

The group regularly ventures into the local area, photographing everything from wildlife and landscapes to architecture, people, and abstract subjects that capture the imagination.
Our sessions combine learning, creativity, and friendship — welcoming all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced photographers.

Member celebrating drum draw

Are you in the drum draw yet?

The App Frod Sports and Social Club Drum Draw was launched in 1962 and is open to all members. All money raised from the Drum Draw goes into providing and enhancing App Frod's sports and leisure facilities to be used by our members and the local community.

Each month's prizes range from GBP 50 to GBP 10,000.

Draws are held monthly, with a special £50,000 first prize at Christmas. Winners are notified in writing, and results are published on our Facebook page.
